I’ve gotten a lot of feedback on my Think Dirty post and since then I’ve been gradually switching out the toxic products I was using to healthier options. I thought I’d share my favourite finds so far!
I’ve switched from the Vitamin E line (Think Dirty scores of 9-10) to this one with success. I do wish it was a bit more moisturizing for the winter but the Think Dirty scores are all less than 5, which is a good starting point, especially for moisturizers. I’m using the foaming wash, toner, day cream and night cream.
I am so in love with this. My former lip balm was a 10 on the dirty scale and I was thrilled to switch to one with a 0 score as I always have it on my lips. I never considered these before due to the clunky packaging but even it is growing on me; makes finding it in my purse easy! I love the Summer Fruit flavour.
Dr. Bronner’s Pure-Castile Soap
I’ve been using the lavender scent (Think Dirty score of 0) as a bath soak at night and I’m really enjoying how gentle it is on my skin. This product has a ton of other uses that I’m curious to try out as well.
Burt’s Bees Herbal Blemish Stick
I’ve been dealing with pregnancy breakouts for weeks on end but my regular spot treatment has salicylic acid, which is a no-no during pregnancy, in addition to it scoring a 10 on the Think Dirty scale. I set out for a better option and discovered this one from Burt’s Bees, with a score of 3. It works awesome and feels really soothing on blemishes while drying them out quickly.
What’s your favourite “clean” beauty product?
Well done again! If you have time, I am using the cleanser, toner, moisturizer, from
the Body Shop, Tea Tree Line. Can you let me know if this is a bad rating as well?
Very interesting what you are finding out, and until we know this information we keep using the same things, over and over.
The products you are using are all a 5 or less, which is a good start! They don’t have added fragrance or parabens, which is a good thing.
I’ve also been trying to “clean” up my selection of beauty/home products. My favs are coconut oil, borax (I’m planning a post on this soon as I’ve been testing it for some time), charcoal (another product I want to do a post on soon), epsom salts, essential oils, and a couple Trader Joe’s products. I also love Burt’s Bees and Dr. Bronner’s products!
Have you ever tried Dr. Bronner’s lotion? I’m interested in that one next!
I’ve used the soaps, but haven’t tried the lotions yet.
