My Winter Skincare Regimen

As the weather has gotten colder I’ve noticed that my skin has been suffering. This month I’ve developed dryness, flakes and irritation already and it hasn’t even gotten THAT cold yet, which will only make things worse. I’ve also started to develop some irritable dry skin around my eyes that has been problematic. I decided I needed to examine my current skincare routine.

I became a bit of a Cetaphil slave a couple of years ago and it has been a great help to my skin. I also like using grapeseed oil under it at night for extra moisture (I get mine at Bulk Barn). I exfoliate twice a week with my fave Vitamin C Microdermabrasion and if I slack off for even a bit my skin gets dull and breaks out quickly. I have been washing my face with an Aveeno cleanser that I really dislike but want to finish up and I use wipes often as well. I decided that I needed to look into adding some extra moisture into my routine and I wanted to pick a line of products that would work together. I also wanted to start using an eye cream to get a head start on the fine lines that are starting to form around my eyes.

I’ve always been a big Body Shop fan and love their Seaweed line but I’ve found it works better for me during warmer months; I knew it wouldn’t moisturize my skin enough now. My sister Caitlin had raved about the Vitamin E line awhile back and recently I decided to test it out. I invested in cleanser, toner, moisturizer, night cream and I also picked up an eye cream from their Nutriganics line. I’ve been using these products for a couple of weeks now and the changes in my skin have been so positive and immediate that I couldn’t wait to share. All of the products smell incredible, making this new regimen an enjoyable ritual.

Here’s a little more about each:

Vitamin E Gentle Facial Wash – super creamy and foams well. I used to feel like washing my face was a chore, but I look forward to using this stuff.

Vitamin E Hydrating Toner – you can just feel the moisture in this; it preps my skin really well for the night cream.

Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet – a gel-cream for day that is super refreshing to put on and makes a great base for under makeup.

Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream – really rich, like butter and has helped my flaking and dry patches so much.

Nutriganics Smoothing Eye Cream – absorbs quickly and has a great texture; the dry irritation around my eyes decreased immediately after I started using this.

Here is my new and improved routine:

Morning:

  • Cleanse with the Vitamin E Gentle Facial Wash
  • Moisturize with Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet
  • Apply Nutriganics Smoothing Eye Cream

Night:

  • Cleanse with the Vitamin E Gentle Facial Wash
  • Tone with Vitamin E Hydrating Toner
  • Apply a thin layer of grapeseed oil all over face and let sink in for a few minutes
  • Apply Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream
  • Apply Nutriganics Smoothing Eye Cream

I’ve been really impressed with this line so far and highly recommend it if you have dry skin that needs a boost!

P.S. These products are all on sale right now for Black Friday. I guess I’m the devil on your shoulder. Time to go shopping!
